English in Action 4C/4F Part2

English in Action 4C/4F Part2

One week before the half-term holidays our class 4C had, together with 4F, the possibility of taking part in an English-in-Action week. Three teachers came from England to improve our oral English skills.

Each group had a project teacher and a drama teacher and teachers were swapped after each lesson. We got a lot of information about English culture, English geography and English habits. On Thursday, we had a typical English breakfast with fried eggs, toast, baked beans and original English tea.

With our drama teacher, we practiced sketches which we performed on Thursday evening. The funniest sketch was the one with the two detectives Julian and Sebastian who found a corpse. In another sketch, Freddy played Freddy Krueger, a main suspect. Felix, as Arnold Schwarzenegger, found the real killer.

All in all, we can say that we had a lot of fun, learned a lot about Britain and we can certainly recommend the English-in-Action week to everyone.

Our English in Action Week

On Monday, we got to know three teachers called Michael, Ruby and Joy. In the first lesson, we got a little book to learn something about the UK. We learned what ‘similarities’ and ‘differences’ mean and played a little game to learn which cities there are in England. With Ruby, we learned about the Queen and her family.

In the last two sessions of each day, we had a project lesson and an acting lesson. In the project lesson, we formed groups to practice for the presentations. In the acting lesson, we performed a play which we presented to our parents on Thursday. During the next days, we often played games, learned about music festivals and bands, about strange sports in the UK, about houses and about TV shows.

On Thursday, we learned about breakfast and we also had one. In the evening, after the acting we did for our parents, we got a little prize. On Friday, we did the presentations for all other students. All in all, it was a very nice week and we have brushed up our English.

English in Action – my mission

My name is Sanid Mujakic, I am fourteen years and my mission was to improve my English skills.

It was a rainy day as I woke up and went to school – the first day of my mission. I was excited and a little bit nervous but I tried to stay cool. Then I met the English in Action teachers, two ladies and one man who seemed really nice. Their names were Ruby, Joy and Michael, all of them were from Britain.

They taught us about the British lifestyle and we talked with them a lot in order to improve our speaking. Ruby was the best because of her personality. She always smiled and laughed and she taught us interesting things about British culture, housing and the famous Royal family.

After three days I noticed that my speaking skills got better because I was able to speak English fluently. We really had a great time and enjoyed ourselves very much. Moreover, I accomplished my mission – next stop ENGLAND!
